FirstLine Policy Updates:

Private Sales- Private Sales no longer have to be insured HOWEVER this will be at the FirstLine mortgage underwriters discretion based on the strength of the application and property.

Additional new guidelines (proof of client identity and details regarding how how the mortgage associate and client know one another) are put into place to protect  mortgage associates and the client and FirstLine against fraudulent activity.

OTTAWA – The Bank of Canada today announced that it is raising its target for the overnight rate by one-quarter of one percentage point to 3/4 per cent. The Bank Rate is correspondingly 1 per cent and the deposit rate is 1/2 per cent.
